Leipert Motorsport competed in the third round of the GT Summer Series at the Nürburgring with Gregor Drasal behind the wheel of the #9 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO. In hot summer conditions, the team demonstrated strong pace from the very beginning. Drasal set the fastest time in free practice, carrying this momentum throughout the remainder of the race weekend.

The #9 also delivered a consistent qualifying performance. Gregor Drasal secured third place in class for both Race 1 and Race 2, putting himself in a strong position for the opening races of the weekend.
Despite the promising starting positions, the opening two races did not unfold as planned. After the starts, Drasal dropped back to tenth overall in both races. However, thanks to impressive race pace, he fought his way back through the field on each occasion to finish fifth overall and fourth in the GT3 AM class.

The third and final one-hour race of the weekend brought the well-deserved reward. Starting from fourth on the grid, Drasal was involved in an exciting battle at the front of the GT3 AM field. Delivering a consistent and mistake free drive over the full race distance, he secured second place in class and celebrated his first podium finish of the weekend

“Gregor delivered a strong and consistent performance throughout the entire weekend. His recovery drives in the first two races, together with the podium finish in the final race, demonstrate the progress he has made. The third race in particular showed what is possible under normal race conditions. We are very pleased with the result and are already looking forward to our next GT Summer Series outing.” – Managing Directors Marc Poos and Marcel Leipert
Following the successful race weekend at the Nürburgring, the GT Summer Series now heads into its summer break. When the championship resumes at Spa-Francorchamps, Leipert Motorsport will aim to build on its strong performance and once again challenge for podium finishes.
